Indiatourism Mumbai facilitated a storytelling session for over 150 middle school children at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 Colaba , Navy Nagar, Mumbai today. The objective of the ‘Katha Yatra is to take forward the Government of India’s Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) initiative. Today’s Katha Yatra today (Story Telling session) covered EBSB’s focus on Maharashtra and Odisha (paired States) to educate students about glory of the paired states by highlighting the connections and narratives between these two states. A team from Dhi Project, Mumbai conducted the story telling session using audio visuals and props to engage with the students. The students were hooked on to the interesting stories told during the session and took away valuable learnings about history, culture, cuisine, art, dance forms, monuments, tourist attractions of Maharashtra and Odisha.

Indiatourism Mumbai met and felicitated the exchange students from Odisha, visiting Maharashtra under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Programme. Ministry of Education, Government of India through AICTE has initiated students exchange programme between the paired states under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Maharashtra being the paired state of Odisha, the paired colleges Thakur Engineering College in Kandivili and GIET University, Gunupur, Odisha came together for a cultural trip at Chhatrapati Shivaji Vastu Sangrahalaya, the unmissable landmark of Mumbai.

Institute of Hotel Management Bhopal organised an awareness session on the rich customs and traditions of Nagaland & Manipur in the Institute’s auditorium. The audience was enlightened by the address of chief guest Mr. Rajeev Mishra, Alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and Guest of Honor Mr. Sharad Nautiyal, Master Trainer of DoPT. The event was directed by Principal Dr. Anand kumar singh. In the power point presentation, the pictures of customs & traditions were show cased. The presentation also included the show case of a short film based on the Manipuri dance and naga tribal dance form. A small quiz was also organised to involve the audience for creating mass awareness. The program was inaugurated with lamp lighting and ended with the recitation of National Anthem.

As a part of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat initiative, the Institute organized an Intra College Menu Designing Competition highlighting the eclectic cuisine of Sikkim and Delhi, during the month of June, 2022. This was an online event conducted via google forms and the participants were told to Plan a 3 course menu highlighting the cuisine of either Delhi or Sikkim. The aim of the activity was to increase awareness about Delhi’s sister state Sikkim, to showcase the wonderfully diverse cuisine of Sikkim, and make people more aware about the local delicacies. Students spotlighted the regional cuisine of Sikkim, and lay emphasis on the Tibetan and Nepalese influence on the cuisine. The entries shed light on local specialties such as Bamboo Shoot Curry, Sha Phaley, Thukpa etc.

In month of June, 2022 Institute had organised activity Screening of Film- “A virtual tour of Kovalam” In this activity a virtual tour based on tourist destination, culture and tradition of Kerala was shown to the 1st year students of IHM Shimla. Through this virtual tour, students were made aware about the beauty of Kovlam, Fishing, Boating experience, under water experience. Through this video village experience was also shared, from which students came to know about farming and village life style.
