IHM Mumbai organised a guest lecture for our Second year students under the aegis of EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative of Central Government of India.
The guest lecture titled “Temple foods of Odisha”, which was taken by a guest lecturer; who not only gave insights of the rich topic of Temple foods of Odisha, but also gave a demo of 3 dishes namely; Kanika ( Rice based preparation), Dalma (A delicious medley of lentils and vegetables), & Rasabali (Dairy based traditional sweet preparation).

Institute had organised stakeholder awareness programme under Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat in the month of August 2022. In the said activity, students of the Institute had gone to nearest tourist place Kufri. Where they met with stakeholder like Horsemen, Dhabawala, Shopkeeper, Taxi Drivers and Tourist Guides. They were made aware with the importance of Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat and cultural aspect of paired state Kerala. Students of the Institute had explained Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat aspect so precisely that message goes to people, we are living in one country with so many diversity. This activity completely fulfil the idea of EBSB.

Students were informed regarding the paired states i.e Odisha and Maharashtra under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat theme of Ministry of Tourism. Students were encouraged to visit tourist places in Maharashtra along with family and friends.

As a part of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat initiative, the Institute planned for activity where all faculty, staff & students together made an attractive, interactive display board highlighting the breathtaking tourism of Sikkim, during the month of July, 2022. This was an offline event conducted in the college premises on the 22nd of July. The activity aimed at increasing awareness about Delhi’s sister state Sikkim, and to promote it as an emerging tourism hotspot. The activity enjoyed massive participation from the student body, with participants shedding light on the cuisine, culture, and natural scenic beauty of Sikkim. Students showcased their enthusiasm via sketching and calligraphy on the display board. The board was also adorned with texts from Bhutia, Lepcha, and Nepalese, to provide the students an insight into the various vernacular languages of Sikkim. Both students and faculty pitched in eagerly to make the event a success.
